Qwest has informed us that they will be upgrading some equipment on Saturday September 27th. They have decided to make these changes from 12:00am to 1:30am. Expect your DSL to be down during these hours. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

If you find your service is unavailable on Saturday morning, please power cycle your DSL modem by removing power to it, waiting 30 seconds and then returning power to the modem. It will take approximately 30 seconds to regain a connection. In most cases, this will bring your connection back up.

Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience.

We just received notice that Air-Pipe, WebBand’s wireless provider, is doing some work on the Mt. Spokane tower today between 1pm and 5pm. This work MUST be done in the daylight and will probably affect service. You might experience interruptions of 10-15 minutes between these hours.

We apologize for any inconvenience – the upgrades should provide better service in the future.

This is only for those customers pointed to Mt. Spokane!

We were informed that at 6:30am this morning (Tuesday September 23, 2008), Qwest cut a fiber line that affected all of our DSL customers. As of 8:30am this morning, the fiber is still broken. Qwest is working on the problem and as soon as we know the problem is fixed, we’ll let our customers know. Sorry for the inconvinience – thanks for your patience.

As of 9:10am the issue has been resolved – if you still have a RED internet light on your DSL modem, unplug it from power, wait 30 seconds and then return power to it; it should come back in approximately 30 seconds.

Comcast Caps Usage September 3, 2008

Comast is capping your Internet usage

Don't let Internet caps slow you down - try WebBand

Last week, Comcast announced that as of October 1, 2008, they will cap the usage on their Internet service. This means that after a certain amount of data has been requested, Comcast will either charge you MORE or cut your service off. This new policy is also being considered by many of the other large Internet companies around the US (Verizon and AT&T are also looking at it – can Qwest be far behind?).

WebBand has NEVER capped our usage and we never will. It’s one more advantage of staying local. The Internet has become the place to go to find and download music and movies. These type of files require a lot of bandwidth. Why would a media company like Comcast limit the number of media files a person can download?

If you are tired of being dictated by a large, unfriendly company about how long you can surf the web, maybe it’s time to try a local company with your needs in mind. Give us a call today at (509) 688-2550 for more information – WebBand DSL service starts at only $26.95 per month (basically half of Comcast’s regular price). We’d love to show you the difference a local Internet company can make!
