Liberty Lake Internet Exchange, the parent company for WebBand, is changing.
What’s new?
On October 1st, Liberty Lake Internet Exchange became TierPoint. The new name reflects our core business and highlights our efforts at delivering “top tier” connectivity, security and availability.
In January, we will also be opening an expansion to our Data Center. This new facility will add space and services that we currently don’t have. We’re growing and that’s always good for you!
What’s the Same?![]()
Our service to you will not change. WebBand will still be your service provider (the name doesn’t change). Nothing changes. In fact, the backbone of our network gets stronger with the expansion.
We are also still here to service you. Our friendly support team is available to help you with any questions you may have.
TierPoint is a new start for us and a continuation of the same great service for you. The best of both worlds!

For the past couple years, my kids have been learning how to use technology. They have become quite adept at finding information on the Internet and their keyboarding skills are getting pretty good. This year they began attending a new school. They were assigned an e-mail address and all of their homework is listed for them online. English papers are required to be typed and most of their math skills are being taught online. Without computers in the house, my kids would be left behind.
In the Spokane area, over 15,000 kids are growing up in “low income” households. 83% of these kids do not have access to computers at home, let alone the Internet. That means that in order for these kids to stay on top of their homework, they need to find technology elsewhere – the library, a friend’s house, etc.
There’s a group in the Spokane School District that is making a difference. TEConnections is a program that takes old, out-dated computers from the district, refurbishes them and then gets them into the hands of families who need them. For the past year, WebBand has been working with TEConnections to provide these family with an Internet connection.
What’s so exciting about this program is that students are not only participating, but leading the program. They are learning the skills needed to repair PCs and load software. They are involved in distributing the PCs to families – holding hands-on training with each family as they are given their computer. They man a “help desk” which provides phone support for these families when they have questions. Not only are they gaining real work experience that will make them more employable in the future, but they are meeting a real need and seeing incredible things happen.
