New Value-Add December 18, 2006
Posted by WebBand in Technology.add a comment
A new value-added service is coming to WebBand. We’ve been talking about it for a while now and it will be available for everyone after the first of the year.
Anti-virus software is something that’s a necessary evil in today’s Internet world. It protects your PC from the unwanted advances of smart people who want to damage you, your identity and/or your data. I don’t know about you, but I hate managing my anti-virus software. I hate paying to renew it. I hate downloading updates. I hate running scans.
WebBand now has a technology that will protect your connection. We are providing anti-virus support at the server-level. That means your PC, which is connected to our servers, will be protected without needing special software, downloads or updates. The line that you use to access the Internet will be “clean” – similar to the way the water that comes into your house is “clean.” You won’t have to worry about something getting through because we have “cleaned” it before it gets to you.
Not only will it clean before you get the data, but it will also clean the data you send. Sometimes viruses duplicate themselves using your e-mail, without your knowledge. This new technology will keep you from unknowingly sending viruses to everyone in your address book.
For more information, check out the Anti-Virus landing page at WebBand.com.
We’re excited about this new launch and hope you are too. There is a price increase that goes along with it. We’ve kept it to a minimum and the value you’ll see as an end user is greater than the expense.
Tell us how you feel about this. We do want to hear from you. We’re also interested in hearing from you on new services – what do you need or want from your ISP? Content filters? Backup services? Fax services? Call waiting services? Our desire is to be the best at what we do, so please help us out. I’m always available (craig.brandvold@webband.com), so drop me a note.
Security on KHQ December 14, 2006

If you missed one of our own last night on KHQ Evening News talking about Internet security, you can get it here. Liberty Lake Internet Exchange (LLIX) is the parent company of WebBand. We are working hard to provide new and outstanding security products to you – AV support will roll out soon and a content filter is in the works. We’d love to have your feedback – what do you need to secure your Internet connection?

Christmas Duck Challenge December 12, 2006
Posted by WebBand in Uncategorized.add a comment
Late last week a few of us were talking about fun things topromote on WebBand. Sitting in my office were some of the Christmas Ducks that we sent to each of you. That’s when it hit me, “Let’s ask our customers to pose the ducks during
their holiday celebrations and take photos.”
So we’re sending out a “challenge” to find unique and fun ways to display your ducks. Take photos and then send them
to me (craig.brandvold@webband.com). We’ll display them at WebBand.com.
After the first of the year, we’ll select the top four or five photos and then let you vote to pick the winner. For
more information or to view the submitted photos, go to www.webband.com/page.php?id=90.
