“Security and spyware protection is one area where you don’t want to skimp. Judging by the tales we’ve seen in our Spyware Horror Stories, an unprotected PC can go from a high-speed powerhouse to a sluggish mess in mere minutes.” [more]

This is the first in a series of contests that we’ll launch this fall for our subscribers (some will be available for only subscribers and others for anyone who finds it). All will focus on the Spokane area. Keep an eye here and in your inbox (if you are a WebBand subscriber) for details.

Shock Win August 14, 2006

The Spokane Shock put on one awesome show on Saturday night. Their first playoff game ever will go down as a tresure. They took the field against the Bakersfield Blitz, a team they lost to at home earlier this season. The Blitz did just about everything they could to win and the game was a back and forth event.
The Shock took the lead with a kickoff return for a touchdown and the fun never stopped. Arena League Football is fast and scores get high. Neither team did much to put the other out of reach. The game stayed close and wasn’t finished until that last field goal fell short with time running out. What a game!
Check out what the Spokesman-Review had to say about some Shock fans. (John just happens to be an employee!)
The Shock take on Arkansas on Saturday for the right to attend the National Championship game. Tickets are going fast, so gets yours soon!
Spike and Dig Volleyball August 7, 2006

I love volleyball! So when the largest six-on-six volleyball tournament in the Northwest comes around I get excited.
Spike and Dig was held this past weekend on August 5th and 6th at Spokane Falls Community College. For the weekend the campus fills with players, teams, nets and tents lining the courts to keep players cool in between games. The weather was very accomidating and pleasant, unlike past years. You never know what you are going to get in August.
Playing in the tournament this year was challenging since our team was playing in the “A” division, which we had never done in previous years. Many of our games went to the wire. There were ups and downs, and no, we didn’t win the whole thing, but in the end we were ALL still friends.
