Service Outages May 9, 2008

Sunday May 18th
We will be experiencing a partial dialup outage from 9am to 1pm. Our vendor is doing some work on our lines and the capacity will be cut in half during these hours. If you get disconnected during these hours, please redial and you should reconnect to another circuit.
Monday May 19th
Qwest has informed us that they will be doing more work on the DSL lines. They will start around 11pm Monday night and will be finished no later than 3am Tuesday morning. If you find that your DSL is not working on Tuesday morning or if you have service interruptions as you surf the web, recycle your modem. To do this, unplug power from the back of your DSL modem by removing the power from the wall - all lights will go out. Wait about 30 seconds and then return power to the modem. The modem will begin to reboot. Once you have a green DSL and Internet light, try your service. If you still have issues, please give us a call.
We hope these outages will not affect you. Thanks for your patience!!
Grisoft Releases AVG 8.0 May 2, 2008

AVG Free is a free anti-virus software that we recommend our customers use. Recently, version 8.0 was released. This free version provides protection against viruses, worms and trojans and now offers a spyware component which will guard against spyware, adware and identity-thief.
This new version DOES NOT work with Spybot Search & Destroy so that program will need to be uninstalled before upgrading.
To learn more about AVG Free or to download the new package, visit our support suite or give us a call at 509-688-2550 or 208-292-5250.

In order to keep our network running smoothly and efficiently, we plan scheduled network outages to do upgrades and/or improvements.
Our next scheduled outage is on Saturday March 15th. The scheduled maintenance is from 2am to 4am, you may experience intermittent service outages during this time. We will make our upgrades and improvements as quickly as we can and get
things back to normal.
If your service doesn’t work after the scheduled outage or you notice a RED light on your modem, please power cycle your modem before calling us - remove the power from your modem, wait 30 seconds and then plug it back in. In most cases, this will restore service.

Web Filter Review January 10, 2008

WebBand Gives High Marks to K9 Web Protection
Many of you have been clamoring for a web filter to protect your family. We’ve hesitated in recommending in the past, but that changes today.
For the past couple months, we have been reviewing K9 Web Protection and have found it excellent. If you are looking for a way to protect your family (specifically your kids) from the dangers of the Internet, this product is for you. Here are a few key points:
- It’s FREE: We looked at several products that would have been revenue generating for us. We decided not to go that route believing that web protection should be free.
- It Works: K9 blocks what needs to be blocked and allows what needs to be allowed. The technology behind it is the most advanced that we tested. Put simply; it does what it’s supposed to do!
- It’s Fast: Most of the products we tested (including those that were not free) created a lag in surfing the Internet. K9 does not. During the tests, we ran speed tests and found that there was little delay in our connection quality.
K9 Web Protection is something that we feel we can put our name behind. If you would like more information on the product or download a tutorial, click here.
You can download a free copy visiting our online knowledge base. You’ll need to request a free license code (it takes just a moment) and then install a small program on your PC (each PC on your home network will need a license and copy of the software). Once installed, you’ll reboot your PC and the protection is ready for you to use.
We’d love to hear back on your experience with K9 Web Protection. Please go to the download page and click “Add a Comment” at the bottom of the page to share your experience with us and our user base.
